A second field campaign has been performed in Sardinia in March 2013. 16 extra sites have been investigated with the following aims:

Considering the key role played by the lentic-lotic character in influencing benthic invertebrates assemblages (see group of actions I3 and related deliverables), part of the sampling stations investigated in the second campaign have included conditions of strong lenticity and loticity.
Keeping the criterion of investigating ‘couples’ of stations - i.e. two stations showing different habitat conditions are positioned at close distance on the same river reach -, water bodies affected by defined morphological alterations have been investigated. In particular impacts caused by bridges in the downstream reach have been considered.
In some of the additional water bodies, disturbance caused by drought on the macroinvertebrates community re-colonization has been investigated.
Regarding nutrient addition experiment, an additional set of river stretches has been sampled in order to confirm the preliminary results obtained in the first campaign. Most of the new stations have been selected among the ones where macroinvertebrates sampling was carried out.
